Hon. Joyce Sunte, Nominated member representing gender has sought statement on Ambulance Services in Kajiado County.
The member cited article 43(1)(a) and (2) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, that provides, every person has the right to the highest attainable standard of health, which includes the right to health care and that a person shall not be denied emergency medical treatment.
Hon. Sunte therefore seeks clarity from the CECM Medical Services and Public Health on efficiency of the Ambulance Services, number of well equipped ambulances, trained paramedics, skilled drivers and whether the ambulances are friendly to PWDs.
The member also seeks if the department has developed the Medical Emergency Policy.
Acting Speaker, Hon. Grace Parantai directed that the line CECM respond on the matter, in fourteen days.
