The Public Accounts and Investments Committee earlier today met and interrogated the CECM Health and Medical Services, Alex Kilowua, on the audit queries raised by the office of the Auditor General on the COVID -19 Vaccine roll out. The issues questioned involved the doses received and administered, the budget utilized to run the covid-19 vaccination activities, the sources and distribution of vaccines, storage and disposal of vaccines and the human resource issues of the front line personnel.
The committee noted that there was a descrepancy between the report of the Auditor General and the figures submitted by the CECM Health in relation to doses received, administered, expired, damaged or wasted.
The Committee sitting Chair Hon. Paul Metui directed the parties to harmonize their reports and furnish the house with a comprehensive report on Monday.
In the afternoon the CECM Finance Michael Semera accompanied by Chief Officer Lekina Tutui appeared before the committee to respond to audit queries raised by the Auditor General on the Kajiado County Emergency Fund for the year ended 30th June 2019, 2020 and 2021. The Committee adjourned to Wednesday, 25th January to further interrogate the CECM.
