The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman) team today paid a courtesy visit to The County Assembly Speaker Hon. Justus Ngossor.
The Commission is traversing the Counties
to establish program on partnership to support them in establishing mechanisms to effectively resolve complaints and facilitate access to information in service delivery.
The Speaker said that the County Assembly has been in forefront to promote open governance through the aray of programs including open day, Speaker’s Round Table, civic education and Bunge Mashinani.
The Hon. Speaker Ngossor informed the Ombudsman team that the County Assembly has undertaken Stakeholders mapping and seeks to leverage its feedback mechanism.
He added that the Assembly had already passed the Kajiado County Public Participation Act, 2024 and is warming up to domesticating the Access to Information Bill, which will significantly promote inclusivity of the public to legislative and oversight activities.
